{P, P -> Q, Q -> R, R -> S, S -> T} |= (P & Q) & (R & S) & T
Exact source sequent under finite two-valued propositional semantics. Source proposition meanings and Logic/Logos/God Ground are preserved separately; this checks the inference, not unencoded prose.
Predictions and Proof by Maclain Hunter:
Definitions of Key Terms:
Logic - The study of correct reasoning and the rules of inference. It involves consistency, deductive strength and validity. In this context it refers both to formal logic as well as the deeper principles of rationality encompassing reality.
Logos - Originating from Ancient Greek, this term can refer both to thought, reason or rationality, as well as the Divine Reason or Purpose manifest in the ordered workings of the universe. Here it alludes to the coherent, lawful structure underlying nature and linking it to principles of logic.
Empirical Evidence - Data obtained through direct observation or experimentation, as opposed to pure reason or revelation. In science, theories must align with empirical findings to be considered confirmed or valid descriptions of natural phenomena.
Prediction - A statement or estimate about a future event or pattern, derived through logical reasoning or theory rather than pure guesswork. Verified predictions strengthen a theory or model by showing it can properly anticipate observable patterns.
Theory of Everything - A comprehensive, overarching framework that fully explains all physical phenomena under a single set of self-consistent laws and concepts. Any logically coherent TOE would have to be grounded in rational metaphysical and epistemological principles rather than empirical facts alone.
Premises:
P: Predictions made with Logic about the Physics of the Universe, which were made by following logically consistent Logic, have in many cases been confirmed by parallel experiments or later experimentation/empirical evidence. This has been the case with some of Einsteins work on gravitational waves for one famous example.
Q: P could only occur in a “Cosmic” Universe (an Ordered Universe where the whole is harmonious and universally, internally, and logically consistent at once), not an illogical a existence or one where Logic (Logos - the Logical Foundation/Structure of Existence coherent with the Universal Order and Logic/Reason as the “Method of Reasoning”).
R: If the “Logical Foundation”—meaning “the Basis of Existence and/in Objective Logic”—were absent, or not universal, then that would lead to logical contradiction and a general lack of predictability or survivability in (all of) Existence.
S: R being false is inconsistent with Logic and empirical evidence, as well as the successful use of logical predictions in Science (including in hypothesis formation but also in theoretical physics and other scientific fields), including logical predictions and non-empirical (theoretical or purely logical) aspects of Darwin and Wallace’s Theory of Evolution.
T: Any valid cosmology or “Theory of Everything” that is to be logically valid must be logically coherent. This is tautological since any incoherent theory would be and is incoherent.
Formal Argument (Proof):
{P, P -> Q, Q -> R, R -> S, S -> T} |= (P & Q) & (R & S) & T
Conclusion: {P, Q, R, S, T}:
Breaking this down step-by-step:
P asserts that logical predictions made in physics have been confirmed by empirical evidence, such as Einstein's gravitational wave theory.
Q follows that this implies an ordered, logically consistent "Cosmic" Universe.
R states that without such a logical foundation, contradiction and unpredictability would result.
S argues the falsity of R is inconsistent with both logic and the success of scientific theories like evolution.
T says any valid theory of everything must be logically coherent to avoid incoherence.
Bringing all the premises together, the conclusion is that the Universe exhibits:
P (logical predictions in physics are empirically confirmed)
AND
Q (the Universe is orderly and logically consistent)
AND
R (a rational foundation allows predictability)
AND
S (science supports a logical structure to nature)
AND
T (any complete explanation must be logically coherent)
In symbolic form, the conclusion is the conjunction of all the premises: {P, Q, R, S, T}
